The impact that parents have....

This should be a good way to stimulate conversation here.
How big of an impact do you feel parents can have on their children by enforcing healthy eating while they're young?
I still have most of the eating habits that I had as a kid, such as snacking on raw fruits and vegetables instead of junk, and drinking milk or fruit juice in place of soda (usually).
In my opinion, it does make
In my opinion, it does make a difference but not a big difference. My parents are big junk food eaters, always have been. I use to be when I was younger, around age 16 and down. However, when I decided to start eating healthy and working out, I had no desire to start eating bad again. There occasionally was the time when I REALLY wanted to, but with will power I over came that, and now I have no cravings at all to junk food.
I believe that everyone is completely different, even from there parents, and can overcome "thought behavior at birth" and develop their own habits. But, it will take a lot of will power and dedication.

My parents always gave me
My parents always gave me junk food in my lunches when I was young, they would let me pig out on halloween and never give me any food restrictions.
They are not super health concious...but I seemed to have devolped it on my own. I just eat well to feel good- its simple.
My parents always allowed me
My parents always allowed me to eat what ever I wanted when ever. This eventually lead to me becoming over-weight. It stopped after I gave myself some self sense to watch what foods I put in my body and start hitting the gym.
Back to your question, I feel they have a huge impact on how kids grow up eating, from young to old.
