I'm a newbie!!
Hi I'm new to the site and new to working out. I've gained alot of weight lately and I'm getting scared because I have a possibility of getting diabetes. I want to lose weight but I'm not sure how. Also I'm not sure of what I can do because I do not own any equipment. I'm shooting to lose a total of 45lbs. I'm not sure when I can do it but that is my goal. Please help.
How tall are you and how
How tall are you and how much do you weigh? 45 pounds is a lot of weight, You will need to do an hour of straight cardio 3 times a week and a very basic weight training program about 2 times a week to make steady progress.
I'm 5'2 and 180lbs. What
I'm 5'2 and 180lbs. What kind of cardio? and how can i do it on a low budget?
First things first, build
First things first, build your self an attainable nutrition plan and work around that.
Stage one.) Cut out the majority of sugars from your diet. This means, soda, candy, & other foods that are high in unnatural sugars.
Stage two.) Watch your carb consumption. This means you want to be monitoring your intake of fast digesting carbs. Ex. White bread, potatoes, white rice, ect... Feel free to eat or switch those up with whole wheat alternatives. Try not eat a lot of carbs prior to bed time, they won't be used as energy and stored into your body as fat.
Stage three.) Eat Clean! This means no processed crap. Sounds hard right? It's not just don't go to fast food chains, when your at the grocery store choose foods that have ONE ingredient not 15+ processed crap. Fresh Veggies, Cottage Cheese, Lean Deli meats, are all great alternative snacks.
I guarantee you if you watch what you eat, make the right decisions with what foods your putting in your body you will loose weight!
Now.... that you've got your diet down pack and you really want to start speeding up the process of your weight loss your going to want to incorporate some sort of exercise.
Exercise is the key to boosting your metabolism and ultimately maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I would recommend starting off slow; walks, jogs, bike rides then add in a weight training schedule when you feel your ready (We'll give you a FREE workout guide).
So here's what I want you to do, follow any of Dylan's tips for a start. Then follow my tips for eating healthy.
After you feel your got your new healthy diet down, do some exercise. 30 minutes of exercise 3-5 times a week. Starting off slow and progressing as you get more comfortable.
I hope these tips / guidelines help! Keep us updated on your weight, goals, concerns & diet. We have tons of guys in here who are willing to help you out and keep you motivated.

Justin said it all
Justin said it all perfectly... the only other thing I would suggest is getting a personal trainer. I beleive a person only has so much self discipline and if your not the type to put in a consistant 100% effort, (which a low amount of people are ) I would strongly suggest investing your money into a personal trainer to assist you in reaching your goal.
