The easiest way to remove belly fat is to eat right (6 times a day) and to do HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training, this is basically just sprinting).
Also, you should get into weight lifting. Exercises like dead lifts, squats, and bench press will increase your metabolism and help burn fat. In terms of actually working out your abs, you only need to do this about every second or thirds time your in the gym, other wise you will just be over training your abs and you wont see any benefits.
