Home Routine

TheBigK's picture

I rarely have time to go to the gym with work and such. My routine can't be all that hectic after work as I just don't have energy or time.

Is there any simple things I can do at home to build muscle or just get in better shape while I wait for the work season to settle down?

Hi Bigk,

I use to feel the same way as well.
I have a demanding girlfriend and a full time job. It's hard sometimes.

My biggest recommendation would be to buy a set of high resistance tension bands. Those things are wicked for a great workout! They don't take very much time out of your day... and they're extremely cheap! I don't care what anyone says they'll kick your ass if you know how to use them.

Most resistance bands come in weight settings I would go with the highest tension for the best workout. (Depending on what kinda shape your in)

I got the black ones, they work perfect.

What do you do at work?

I stock for a retail store.

For my chest: I crush lift EVERYTHING. You have a 45lb case of detergent? Crush lift and carry that thing to where it needs to be holding it only with your pectorals.

Triceps: Overhead extensions while carrying that from point a to b.

Biceps: Curl stuff as you move it.

Obliques: Weighted twist things are you move them from its shelf to a cart for the sales floor.

Abs and Erector Spinae: Keep your back straight when doing the above.

There you go, a multi-muscle group workout that you get paid to do. Assuming you work in retail.
