if you rock back and forth just do it half speed of what your doing and focus on your center of gravity. pretty much instead of thinking about bringing your legs up... think about keeping your body still
I've seen Andy bring his legs up and as he does he pulls his butt back as he brings his legs up to touch toes to the bar. He does this in a bit of a rhythmic motion. I think that's because he was in gymnastics all his life.
Another way we did these in high school was on the wooden bars attached to the wall. We put a long thin workout mat over one of the higher bars then climbed up and grabbed the highest bar with our backs firmly into the mat that covered the other bars. That fixes the back tight and then we bring legs up to touch the bar so that our butts move away from the mat and our bodies curl up a bit.
LOL Danny! It was great seeing you on this post. LOL See you tonight.
The hanging legraises with the back fixed I think is a bit unnatural. I never quite got why gymnasts like Andy did zillions of these. It seems to me that in gymnastics you never have your back fixed. So doing hanging legraises the first way you say seems more natural.
Andy I'm finally poking around this site. Thanks for the heads up. Would be great to have Dylan join us for our core challenge. Looking forward the reunion.
I find sometimes I rock back

Dylan that was a great
Dylan that was a great video. I think on hanging LLs you are to bring them up much higher otherwise you mainly work your hip flexors.
Have to say you have one damn fine set of abs. Really awesome. GREAT look. And keep up the great teaching you do.
LOL I agree with Danny.
LOL I agree with Danny. Dylan's got a great set of abs and he shows us how he did it.
