Burning fat faster

Dr. Sears thinks he knows how.
From the fitness section of his website: "All exercise burns the same number of calories, but not necessarily the same amount of fat. Let’s look at running. If you increase your running pace from, say, 5.5 miles per hour to 6.5 miles per hour, you will burn both more fat and more calories if you cover the same distance. However, if you then increase your pace from 6.5 miles per hour to 7.5 miles per hour, you’ll actually burn less fat in proportion to the total calories burned. That’s because your muscles need adequate amounts of oxygen to metabolize fat to chemical energy (adenosine triphosphate or ATP) needed for muscle contractions. As you go beyond a certain exercise intensity, this growing lack of oxygen transfer to the muscle cells makes them more dependent on burning stored glucose for ATP production. You are still burning calories, but more of these are coming from a low-octane fuel (glucose) and less is coming from a high-octane fuel (fat). The combination of the Zone Diet plus high-dose fish oil increases your oxygen transfer capacity so that you can keep using high-octane fat for ATP production at increasingly higher exercise intensities."
Now I don't know about the Zone Diet part (though good diet is naturally important) but I like his other explanations. You can read more at the fitness section of his website.
Now get out there and burn off some fat.

makes sense. i read (from somewhere on this website) that HIIT training burns more carbs than fat. but somewhere in the article, i think that it something like burning carbs is better, because when your burning fat, your body produces some more fat when it is burned...or something of the sort
Burning fat is better if you
Burning fat is better if you want to burn off body fat. I think that was the point of the article. But burning carbs is better if you that's what you need for your activity.

Burning fat as your main
Burning fat as your main source of energy isn't always the best technique for fatloss. Our bodies are very adaptive & after a while usually when you hit your plateau, your body starts to rely on fat as your main source of energy.
This being said it's going to want to store more fat for energy use. Now who wants to store more fat on their bodies? Personally not myself.
A good combination between HIIT and "Fat Burning" Cardio will give optimal results.
In my opinion Boosting your metabolism will see the best results for fatloss. Hiit, circuit training, & dieting are the best ways to do this.
Here's one of my favorite articles on fatloss, I would definitely recommend reading it.

Interval training is great
Interval training is great for fat loss too.
In California guys are always trying to have no fat. Building muscle is also a great fat burner.

Life is good in California.
I started out life in Colorado then parents moved when I was 10 ("But I found them!" as the joke goes.) So I'm a transplant and lived almost half my life here. Life in Berkeley is nice as a student.
The weather's quite nice and that's what I like. People tend to stay in shape more since so many guys here (some girls too!) go shirtless. True, some people are better with clothes on (Murphy's Law there).

Question, is it ok to have 4
Question, is it ok to have 4 consecutive days of HIIT like the "heart crusher" guide i posted and then 3 days rest? Am i risking my health by doing this? i mean UFC guys trains 6 times a week 1 rest i dont know how they do it lol.
Hey RaadV, In theory you
Hey RaadV,
In theory you could do 4 consecutive days of HIIT, and if you mean by risking your health 'getting totally ripped' then go for it.
Just make sure your not working the same muscle groups back to back. Cycle with different ones.
For Example: HIIT SPRINTING followed up by: HIIT SWIMMING followed up by: HIIT CYCLING...ect...
Just make sure your not overly fatigued, & get some carbs in your body before you start.

Oh great, and there's
Oh great, and there's another detail, i need to boost my lungs to the edge so i do hill sprintings of about 100 mts long and the time limit is 20 seconds i do it in like 18 to 20 seconds. After that i wear a neckband over the nose and mouth n over it i wear a V force paintball mask to perform the circuit, ITS SO GREAT 2 weeks of doing that i feel like i never get tired, try to do the same, and i'm pretty sure it doesnt has any health danger cus there's a UFC fighter who does that, but in a much more larger scale have a look:

I workout occasionally with a guy who was in gymnastics and wrestling. He said he worked out 6 days a week and for several years even did 7 days a week for months at a time. He's a lean muscular rock. I think muscles can adapt but they will not grow. At least you cannot work the same muscles hard 2 days in a row except for abs and calves. Abs especially recover very rapidly.
